Sementara soal pencipta asli lagu tersebut yakni H. Imron, tiga personel Trio Macan mengaku sudah meminta izin menyanyikan tembang tersebut melalui manajemennya. "Penciptanya kita tahu, H. Imron, kita ketemu orangnya langsung tatap muka sih belum pernah, cuma manajemen kami yang sering ketemu dan berbicara langsung, kita sih cuma baru melihat fotonya aja," kata Iva Trio Macan.

Lebih jauh menurut penyanyi dangdut Inul Daratista, lagu iwak peyek sudah lama terkenal di Jawa Timur. "Lagu ini udah ngetop duluan di Jawa Timur dari di Jakarta, dulu penyanyinya Mas Sodik," pungkas Inul.
